Should I get checked for glaucoma?

The other day I went to the eye doctor and my eye pressure test revealed high eye pressure in both eyes. They mentioned this but didn't seem to think it was a big deal. I was too busy worrying about a chalazion that I was being treated for to ask more about the eye pressure. Now that my chalazion surgery is over I am worried about the eye pressure issue. I just looked it up and found it's direct link to glaucoma. In addition, I have had floaters in my eyes that I first noticed in 3rd grade (17 years ago). My mom tells me I am being silly... but should I schedule another appointment to get checked for glaucoma? I read that if not addressed in advanced that glaucoma can cause blindness. Am I just being a hypochondriac? Wouldn't the eye doctor have said something if the eye pressure was something to be concerned about? Thanks!!
