Is there a way to reverse a judges decision?

A judge's decision is never final. There are appeals. My mom and dad got a disallusion after 31 yrs of marriage. My mom said she didn't want anything, she didn't deserve anything because she cheated. One year later she appealed it, claiming mental distress at the time of the original hearing and got half of his 401K (60,000) and the house I grew up in had to be sold. What a mess!
