Red, dry, itchy patches spreading more and more..?

I just came back home from college and I came from a snowy place and all of a sudden its been snowing a lot where I came home to so I don't think its my environment change or anything but I have these itchy not really bumps but dry patches almost that started at my biceps and shoulders and now r sparse throughout my whole body and even a vague bit on my face i can see starting to come.. going to go to the doctors soon probably but want any advice for at home and right now? Have no history of any skin diseases in my family or in my life and aren't allergic to anything but was just prescribed a medication for a sore throat about the same time this started to occur but I've been off it for two days and they still seem to be worse. Any help please.. Thanks.
